Description
Students will learn about the Earth’s spheres and sphere interaction by developing a model to show the 4 Earth spheres: geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere interacting. From the Earth’s Systems DCI, This resource is aligned with 5th-grade NGSS 5-ESS2-1. Develop a model using an example to describe ways the geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and/or atmosphere interact. This resource is also aligned with CCSS for 5th grade Reading Informational Text and Writing. This resource includes the use of phenomena. Parts of this can be used as a Distance Learning Packet.
This unit explores the Earth’s four spheres ( geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere) and how they interact exchanging energy and matter. The resource includes an informative slideshow, 3 pages of nonfiction text, response pages with text-dependent questions, interactive notebook flaps, a hands-on lab activity with follow-up pages, graphic organizers, diagrams, and more. This resource also includes an assessment in the format of end of year testing.
Informational text reading passages with comprehension questions are included.
Students will learn about the interaction of the four spheres while thinking critically about the topic of sphere interaction.
Answer keys are included!
This resource also aligns with Utah SEEd 5.1.3
