Description
This hands-on 5 E inquiry lesson is designed to teach students about chemical reactions, chemical change, and the difference between a chemical change and a physical change. It is aligned with NGSS for 5th grade and Middle School but could be used in grades 3-7. This lesson includes a short informational text piece, inserts for Interactive Notebooks, and directions for folding the inserts. This experiment is lively and fun and engages students in the scientific practice of planning and carrying out an investigation. the materials needed are household, inexpensive materials like baking soda, vinegar, Kool-Aid packet, and lemon juice.
