Have students make timelines of their own life by deciding on a few events and looking through magazines to find pictures that represent those events. Glue the pictures with a description of the event on index cards. Attach to yarn. These can be hung up on a bulletin board for display. I had my students make pockets and include in their social studies notebook.
Adjust the idea for any type of sequencing or stages or lifestyles.

Hi Lynda,
I'm pinning this for next year. I could use it in my middle school classroom as the first ISN lesson/get to know you activity AND have them learn more about timelines :o) Thanks for posting!!

Another excellent INB activity! I see uses for this activity! In reading students could string the main idea statements together in sequence for a summary. In science, life cycles, sequence of steps/procedures in an experiment or investigation. In social studies time lines through history, and sequence/steps for problem solving in math! Thanks for linking up!
